As a yogi we all are on a constant path of expansion and personal development. The following workshops are aimed at serious yoga students and yoga instructors will find tons of invaluable information for their own career.

We are absolutely thrilled by bringing you world renowned yoga masters and highly respected senior yoga instructors to Genève / Geneva.

At INNERCITYOGA, we care above all on the quality offered.
Hence, as founders of the studio we make sure to host workshops only with master teachers and instructors whom we have met in person.
Some of these guest teachers are also instructing partial segments of our Certified foundational 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training or the advanced 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training for graduates of a 200 hours program.For teachers: please, let us know if you need a statement over the number of hours you did attend in the workshop.

Spots are limited and most workshops fill up quickly; remember to book early.


In September and October you do have the opportunity to study with these Senior Teachers either in a full immersion or with public classes.

The hours of the hours of the immersion are counted towards the RYS-300 Deep Flow Yoga Teacher Training by INNERCITYOGA.
Details about the 2017 / 2018 300 hours Training (to become a RYT-500h) are in the making.

Joan Hyman is our lead teacher in INNERCITYOGA's RYS-200 Hours foundational Deep Flow Yoga Teacher Training and one of the main teachers in the RYS-300 Deep Flow Yoga Teacher Training.

Joan Hyman's grounded teaching style seamlessly supports her students as they emerge from their practice with the rich and bright energy that yoga has to offer. Joan's teachings come from an organic and intuitive place, as she draws upon the combination studies of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga as well as Ayurveda, and
meditation. An authentic modern day yogi, Joan's love and devotion show up in her practice and through her teachings.

With over twenty years of experience leading retreats, trainings, and workshops worldwide ‐ fifteen of which as a distinguished YogaWorks senior teacher ‐ Joan recently brought her expertise to Wanderlust as the Director of Teacher Trainings. A leader in the Los Angeles yoga community, Joan's openhearted approach to teaching yoga keeps both her inner spirit and her students continuously evolving.

Find Your Authenticity

Description of the Immersion-only segments:

Hands on Adjustments and Looking at Bodies
A great yoga teacher is able to read bodies and understand what adjustments and instructions to give so student can move into better alignment from within. We will look at different types of bodies in the poses and learn how to read what adjustment that student may need. Learn the skill of hands on adjustments by grounding your students first and teaching them how to access these poses on their own eventually. Adjust with confidence in a safe and effective manner so your students will leave with an understanding of how yoga works on their bodies and feel transformed!

Sequencing a Vinyasa Flow Class
Learn how to sequence from an anatomical place and move your students from their outer edges to the inner body leaving your students feeling blissful and bright. Sequencing is a skill that can educates students on how their bodies work and how to access their pranic body so they leave feeling transformed! We will discuss anatomy, subtle body, and how to add the elements of philosophy into your classes!

Advanced Asana and Pranayama
Learn what makes up an advanced practitioner and how to make advanced postures accessible. This will include a discussion of yoga classes in the western world today, what an advanced practice may look like. What elements create an advance practice and which poses are considered advanced? This will also include a discussion on the higher limbs of yoga and the importance of cultivating a pranayama and meditation and using discernment to see which practice is right for you!

Understanding how to work with injuries
Understanding injuries is a crucial part of being a yoga teacher these days. Most people that come to yoga usually have some type of injury they are working with. We will review common injuries and the anatomy involved with those injuries to help to build a healthy sequence that strengthens surrounding muscle groups around the injured area. Learn important questions and techniques to ask your students to help them approach their injuries with more awareness and mindfulness.

Restorative Yoga
In our society today most of us live in an adrenalized state finding it is very hard to slow down and relax. Because of this, stress accumulates and disease begins to form. Simple modalities such as restorative yoga, breath awareness, and meditation can help alleviate stress and create a more peaceful balanced environment keeping your health at an optimal level and preventing future disease. We will explore different types of chronic illness and traumatic situations and use restorative sequences to help restore the body and mind to more healing place.

Finding your Authenticity
Do you consider your life to be deeply fulfilling? Are you clear on your sense of purpose? We'll explore what it takes to live authentically and explore the inner work of the shadow to help you move into your light. From there we will discuss what makes you shine, what gives you purpose and how to connect to your dharma. You'll come away with a good understanding of what it is like to live authentically, without fear, and be poised to align yourself with your purpose and a life with fulfillment.

Self Care and Meditation
As healers, we are constantly offering our energy outwards. To stay grounded, it's a good idea to keep one eye on our clients and, most importantly, the other eye within. The key is a regular self-care practice. In this workshop, we will discuss the idea of self-care and how to regularly incorporate it into your life. With a good self-care practice, you're better equipped to build a sustainable career and live in abundance.

« Unlocking the Psoas »
The psoas muscle is the deepest muscle in your body and referred to as the muscle of our soul. This core-stabilizing muscle that runs from our trunk to the hipbone affects mobility, structural balance, joint function, flexibility, and much more. In addition to its function to help keep the body upright and moving, it affects two of our most vital systems: digestion and breath. In this workshop, you will learn where your psoas is and how to unlock this deep muscle creating numerous benefits throughout your body. There will be a brief anatomy lesson learning the psychological benefits of releasing this muscle before a deep two- hour practice opening the abdomen region and releasing the lower back and hips. Open to all levels.


Saturday 14 oct., 13h00 – 16h00 « Roots and Rebounds - Learning to lift off the ground.»
Learn tips and tricks to open your wings and get your body off the ground. Face this exploration of arm balances including handstands with courage, breath, and playfulness. No need to fight your way up, learn a pathway to channel these postures into your practice with enthusiasm and ease. These postures can teach us to take chances and face our fear of falling. When practiced in a supportive environment and connect to the grounding element beneath us, they will leave you feel strong and confident and ready to tackle any challenge!
Explore an afternoon of balancing postures that strengthen the core muscles and inversions and arm balances that strengthen your mind and sense of center!

Sunday 15 oct., 13h00 – 16h00
« Balancing the wheels »
- An inversion and backbend workshop on how to find the bandhas and right muscle groups needed to protect the spine in these poses.

Our wheels protect our spine during our yoga practice. There are numerous wheels that run from the pelvic floor up through the neck and they can help access the bandhas and our pranic body. Because the wheels strenthen our support system around the spine they can be found in every pose and help us to feel stronger and more centered in our bodies. We will explore backbends and inversions which are highly transformative postures and when applied can strengthen our postural and core muscles to help support us so we can feel more bouyant and light from the inside out. This workshop will begin with a brief explanation on the wheels and bandhas winddown with a pranayama practice. All levels welcome!
